chapter 9 "Risk"



I was surprised that Shachleton was cautious man because I believe that the reader should be brave and not afraid risk taking. I know my idea is a little bit extreme, so let me explain it.

When I imagine "an adventure" and "a reader"and connected both of them, one animation was occured in my mind, that was "one piece".

The story of "one piece" is, as you know, the adventure of pirate sailing around the world with members to be a king of pirate. One main character Luffy, he is a reader of the ship, have a great appetite for adventure. He never afraid taking risk but, if there are danger, sometimes other members of ship stop taking a risk. Thus they make a decision to do something dangerous by discussing and sometimes arguing between themselves. It can say the answer of the ship is the answer of the all members.

From the chpter 9, however, the author said Shackleton had a both of two side which is never taking a unnecessary chance and not hesitating when a risk is justified. and then I wondered is it possible for one person who are cautious to judge we should take a risk or not each times. I mean shakleton could have definitly missed some chance because of him carelessness.

He could have a bood sence of judging whether he should take a risk or not, however I can guess there are also good members surrounded who supported Shakleton.
